My name is Michael Kaiser. I am a recording engineer by trade – formerly at Love Juice Labs in southern California. I have been a musician and song writer for most of my life; playing, recording and touring with several bands.
The first record player (portable) that I owned was a gift for my fourth birthday, and I have been hooked on audio ever since! I still have the records that I was given with it. I taped a transistor radio to the handlebars on my bike as a kid so I could listen while cruising the neighborhood. A tape recorder that was given to me as a youngster became a gateway into all sorts of “adventures in sound”, as well as real world skills in preservation techniques – as I soon had to learn how to repair broken and damaged tape ribbons. Would you believe that I used to record episodes of Gilligan’s Island and other television programs on that tape recorder in order to listen to them late at night while I was supposed to be sleeping?
I produce and host two podcasts: RadiOblivion on the GaragePunk Podcast Network – which is a music show in a classic 1950’s & 1960’s style radio D.J. format – and Middle-earth Minutes – which is in a more traditional News Program format – reviewing news items regarding all things J.R.R. Tolkien. Believe it or not, there is always a steady stream of news to report!
The things that I am most proud of, however, are being the husband of a wonderful wife, and father to the three greatest kids ever.
